Admission to National Law Universities (NLUs) is primarily based on the rank obtained in CLAT and the preference of NLUs given by the candidates during the counseling process. Actually many people take career breaks while preparing for CAT exam and even the interviewers understand that, given you are able to correctly justify your career break. The interviews may ask you the reason and you can simply state the reason, of course in not such a simple manner but in a better structured and confident way. But be ready with a backup plan no one has seen the future. Hope this helps and if you have any further query you can ask in comments. ALL THE BEST. ;). .
