Hello Roshni,
It is indeed great to hear from you, such an interesting query. IIT's are definitely in a different league altogether. They get cream of students and as a result different companies flock to them for recruitment. In the next rung are many institutions. Colleges with NAAC A grading cones next. Hence, I feel it will be great to get degree from NAAC A if not from IIT. Best wishes to you.

Hello Anish,
Yes, you can change the branches from biotechnology to chemical engineering and any other choices. The only way is to have a high score in the semester exams like 9/10 or more CGPA/CPI. The one with a high score will be given the first preference. In case of a tie, JEE Advanced ranks will be used.
I think this provision is available in all IITs.
But, you cannot change from B.SC to B.Tech, as they are two different streams.

Current Student- IIT, Delhi,

To be very honest, life doesn't end without getting into an IIT. So if you want your brother to start a fresh with B.Tech. In IIT I'd say, it's really not a good option. Answering the question, first of all IITs do not entertain mid program joining so he'll have to start fresh. Second, if he really wants to enter IIT whatsoever then he should prepare for the JEE Mains and Advanced, get a rank and Kudos. He is in IIT. But he still has to fight, life is no simpler in IIT and the struggle is real.

Hi Ravindra,
HC Verma is a good book to provide you a grip on numerical problems. It is undoubtedly a good book. Resnick Halliday has tougher questions than the latter one. Once you are done with HC Verma questions, go for the book.

It depends on your level of preparation. Factors to consider? One way to know is to take mock tests. You can even take tests online based just on your 11th syllabus, so take a shot to see where you stand.
If you find that you are good at understanding the concepts easily, have sufficient problem-solving abilities, your preparation level is decent, but you need someone to keep kicking you to keep studying, then Kota might be the place for you!
Kota can't create some entirely new abilities in you in just 1-year time, especially because you will take a few months to just get used to the new life.
