As per CAT eligibility criteria, you can apply in CAT for MBA. CAT doesn’t specify the requirement for class 12th passing certificate. However, some colleges may have different rules. But, you will be eligible for any PG course after B.Tech.

B.Tech in lateral entry is a process in which students who have studied Diploma after 10th or 12th and wish to study further can get admission in B.Tech college directly into the 2nd year because they had studied enough in their Diploma so that they didn't need 1st-year study.

Documents required to apply for lateral entry are most likely decided by the institute from where you are leaving. Normally a transfer student would require a transfer certificate, pass certificates for previous semesters and approval form the former college. I have provided you a link of Calicut University. In case you are not working somewhere better would be to opt for regular MCA, so that you can get better benefits like placements, scholarships etc.
