It will totally depend on your category because for general or general EWS or OBC category, it is totally impossible to get CSE in NIT or IIT. Only chance is possible if you are from reserve category.

Hello Krishnan Unni, I don't think IIT Palakkad has announced any cutoffs for their MTech courses. This is also corroborated by the fact that a recent report stated that hundreds of seats are lying vacant in IITs for MTech and Ph.D. However, to help you I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about this IIT.

In majority of IITs, the eligibility criteria for admission in M.Tech is minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks or first class in the qualifying degree of Bachelor in engineering. You will have to appear in GATE exam to seek admission in IITs for M.Tech.

You have to study and learn as like IIT and NIT student there is no difference in your hardwork but 1 factor is different for you that is the company coming for placement. Big companies are not going to your college so that you have to go to them from your own. It can happen by hardwork and discipline.

CAT is an entrance exam for more than 160 management institutes across India, including the 20 IIMs. The online CAT exam is conducted every year in the months of late November- early December. The CAT result is usually declared in January every year. The GD/PI rounds typically takes place from February to May. The academic sessions begin in the months of July-Aug.

If you live in a place where coaching is available then I would suggest going for one. Many say coaching is a waste of money and time but in my opinion, they provide you with all the requirements you need to crack the exam. They also teach you tricks and tips to score more in the exam.

Similarly, for 2026 academic session, October 2025 was when applicaiton processed.
