You can appear for AIEEE. It provides admission to government colleges, which are cost-effective. I would also suggest you to appear for individual state examinations (OJEE in Odisha, EAMCET in Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana, COMEDK in Karnataka, etc.). These exams also guarantee you good colleges and serve as a backup in case things don't end up the way you've planned for IIT/ AIEEE.
Every state has its own share of good engineering colleges. So, don't underestimate or overlook them. They can prove to be vital. The more the entrance examinations you appear for, the more the options you will have for choosing colleges.View more

Admissions for B.Tech is now taken on the basis of JEE Mains, and after that counselling starts and admission can be taken there. The forms of application for admission under NRI and Kashmir migrants will be on the website from 15th May,23 as of information, till the last date 15th June.

Completion of Diploma has no criteria to be allowed to appear for JEE Mains. You have to pass class 12th. You have to score at least 75% or be in top 20 percentile of your board. I am afraid, as u have scored only 60% in class 12th, you are not eligible.
