Yes friend there is always a chance left to start a new, fresh and correct path. Most of them make a mistake as you did. But no problem, you have 1 year and if you start making notes from today itself and compulsory revise all notes you make each day every two times a day than 1 year is more than enough to crack JEE Main. Invest more time on studies rather than other activities. You don't have to do an M.Sc. after B.Tech. If you are serious about pure Science research career, you can directly go for Ph.D. after B.Tech. So, yes, after completing your B.Tech degree course, you are eligible for IIT JAM.

There are separate books available for different topics in JAM Mathematics. So, buying these books separately for each topic is not a good idea.
I would suggest you to take help from study materials which cover the syllabus for all the topics in a single book. So, you don't have to carry 10-15 books with you.
For JAM exam preparation, you should solve previous years' question papers and take online mock tests. This will give you an idea about the pattern and difficulty level of the questions. Make notes of all the important stuff. This will help you in your last minute preparation.Best of Luck!

Let's say, 100 students are there then you should in in top 20.
