A PhD is not allowed, as only taught master's courses qualify. An MBA is allowed, but the Chevening Scholarship pays only up to GBP 22,000 of its fee.

If the main concern is affordable PhD fees, it is better to compare UGC-recognised universities on total semester cost, research facilities and scholarship options rather than fee alone. LPU is UGC recognised and its current PhD fee is listed at INR50,000 per semester for several disciplines. Scholarships are also available for candidates with UGC-NET/CSIR-NET, GATE, GPAT or qualifying research outcomes, which can reduce the overall cost.

At LPU the Ph.D Soil Science/Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry syllabus covers areas such as pedology soil physics soil chemistry soil fertility soil water relationships erosion and conservation land degradation soil classification and GIS/remote sensing for soil mapping.
