To get admission into Armed Forces Medical College for the Master of Dental Sciences degree is to go through a proper procedure. One-year compulsory rotatory internship training begins only after completing a 5-year BDS course from a recognised university. The primary screening for admission is a NEET MDS score; that is a national-level examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations. After getting a good rank, usually within the top 1000, an applicant shall apply through the Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services once the vacancies in the Army Dental Corps are announced around May.

Recruitment for BSc Nursing graduates of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is not detailed as a distinct average salary because most graduates enter the Armed Forces.

After completing the course, they are commissioned as Nursing Officers in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) with a basic salary of around INR 56,100 per month (Lieutenant's pay scale-Level 10, 7th CPC) plus allowances such as HRA and military perks, amounting to INR 8-10 Lacs annually.

Remuneration in civilian hospital jobs, if undertaken, is up to INR 4-6 LPA depending on experience and location. Earnings in the Army are low but assured: job security is guaranteed,

Admission to the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune is far from being easy. The competition for selection is cut-throat that candidates tend to score top marks in NEET-UG, ideally above 600 out of 720, since the number of seats is very limited (about 130).

Eligibility is 10+2 with 60% in PCB and unmarried status (age 17-24). Given that AFMC is a military medical college of national importance, one should be academically brilliant, physically fi
