Automotive design is mainly concerned with the development and appearance of road vehicles which includes motorcycles, trucks, buses, coaches, and vans. Automotive designers create concepts using sketches and computer-aided design programs for the visual appearance, as well as functional performance, of vehicles. Automotive design is practiced by designers who usually have an art background and a degree in industrial design or transportation design.
Applicants who have passed the engineering degree in any of the streams of Mechanical /Automobile / Production engineering are eligible to apply for the course of automotive designing.

Qualification required
- After passing 10th a candidate can opt for diploma programme in Automobile Engineering and after that they can further pursue their post graduate diploma or even can get an Engineering degree for which a diploma holders need to have 50% marks in aggregate.
- For B.E/B.Tech in Automobile Engineering - 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical with high percentage of marks
- For M.E/M.Tech - Bachelor's degree in B.E/B.Tech
- For pursuing Ph.D degree a candidate should hold master's degree in automobile engineering.
A qualified automotive designer can easily grab lucrative opportunities which are usually accompanied with attractive remuneration packages. Designers can also seek employment in multimedia movie production and ad development team for designing various sports and hi-tech car models used in most of the movies today.

Below is the basic eligibility for pursuing M.Tech in Automobile Engineering:
Aspirant must have passed B.E/B.Tech or equivalent in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks.
As eligibility criteria and admission procedure may vary in different institutes as each institute have their own admission procedure and policies.
