You have not mentioned whether you are looking for a master or bachelor degree which could have been slightly better for me while giving you possible options. Certain universities are best for masters and some are famous for their bachelor degree programmes.
Germany is by far, the best country for the field of study you are interested in. Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, University of Applied Sciences Esslingen and Westachsische Hochschule Zwickau University of Applied Sciences are amongst the best in Europe. Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, Ecole Centrale Lille in France, and IAAD Istituto D'Arte Applicata e Design in Italy are highly ranked in the world.
Refer to ranking charts such as US News World Rankings and European university rankings for more options. Write to the university whenever you need help with admission information.

To make a career in automobile designing, you have to pursue a course related to this field. Go for Automotive Design Engineering instead of plain Automobile Engineering. Curriculum varies a lot as per the specialization and the specialization to be a car designer is B.tech in Automotive Designing.
Car designing has a lot of opportunities where most of the car companies hire the designers and engineers to build fuel efficient and light cars. This branch of engineering has very good opportunities abroad where big firms like Mercedes, Suzuki, BMW hire car designers to build their automobiles. This course is being offered by many good colleges like UPES, Manipal, DYP-DC Center for Automotive Research and Studies (Pune).
If you are willing to pursue Automotive designing, then look at the companies that visits a certain college. Have a look at the placements before taking admissions. Last year UPES did well in terms of placement. Every year the ranking changes. All the best.

You've chosen a pretty good field to make your career in. Design has plethora of opportunities and great career prospects. As far as design is concerned you can go for M.Des in Transportation design or M.Des Industrial Design, both are good. In case you've not completed your graduation yet then do B.Des first then further go for M.Des degree. Fee structure for these courses vary from college to college.
Few colleges that offers B. Des and M.Des course are UPES, National Institute of Design, M.s Ramaiyah, and AD-The design school. UPES has pretty good placement records and great reviews on web too, so it will be good if you make out to UPES. You can check out its fee structure on its official website.

VIT is a better option, but you should not limit your college options. I would recommend you to go for other good colleges like:
1. KNS.
2. Reva.
3. Ramaiyah.
4. UTM (best for computer science).
5. UPES Dehradun (one of the best for core sector like petroleum, aerospace, automobiles), etc.
If you really are looking for Automobile Engineering then I would definitely suggest you UPES among all these as it has one of the best placement for mechanical, automobile, and petroleum sector as in the end it is the placement that matters.
Moreover, the faculty is better than the colleges you want to go for, the number of students placed every year speaks about it. Even Ramaiyah is good but it is in the south, so the best option for you will be UPES Dehradun. Anyway, I have mentioned the colleges here it is upon you to go with the choice.

For admission you might have to give GRE and IELTS / TOEFL.
Also education in Germany is government funded, there is a possibility that you might have to pay a minimal fee ranging from euro 140-500.

If possible go for a German language course as it will help you find a part time job. A student in Germany can work 90 full days or 180 half days.
