Automobile engineering does have scope, however, suggest general Mechanical as it has better scope in Australia, if you are still keen on Automobile i suggest Germany if it is Masters you are talking about.

NID (NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN AHMEDABAD)IS THE BEST COLLEGE OF VECHIAL AND TRANSPORT DESIGN,its a 4year degree course on completion you will get Bachelor of Design.
every year all india NID EXAM are conducted.

As is understandable from the name. Automobile is focused on Automobiles. But Mechanical Is a very diverse core brance. Everything you can see feel around you is mechanical in nature. Or requires concepts of mechanical engineering.
Thus i would advice as you to keep otions open and take Mechanical Enginnering from good colleges like BITS, Lovely Professional University, SRM etc. Once you get in final year you can choose specialization as Automobile engineering.
