No. Not at all. Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field, emphasising mainly on key general, introductory Biology courses followed by the necessary courses in applied sciences using Biotechnology. In my opinion, there's nothing to caution yourself whether you are PCB/PCMB/PCM student. My suggestion would be to please give some time learning the definition of the word Biotechnology put into words by various international organisations, the applications of Biotechnology and its scope in India. The general notion is that Biotechnology doesn't have much scope within India and I have seen most of my friends around biotechnology taking up other careers. Its a sad note that a number folks prefer to go abroad for further studies to large extent; howbeit, I feel the if you are smart and determined to face whatever it takes, you can come out with wonders.
