Yes, IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute. Some other facilities are also provided to undergraduate students in the form of Institute free studentship, scholarships, reimbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All the students (non-sponsored) admitted to M.Tech or MPharm programmes are provided financial assistance equivalent to the Junior Research Fellowships. The institute also offers a large number of Junior/Senior Research Fellowships to students admitted to PhD programmes.

IIT Varanasi BTech admission is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students qualify Class 12 from the recognised board with 75% marks for general category and 65% marks for SC/ ST. PwD candidates.
The syllabus for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main examination is medium in the level of difficulty. The examination is based on class 11th and 12th syllabus of physics, chemistry and mathematics with some additional topics as well. To secure admissison at IIT BHU for the BTech programme the aspiring candidates need to clear JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. Finally, Admission is confirmed after document verification and fee payment.
