Forensic Science deals with the investigation and solution of the crimes. Students can investigate a demo crime scene using instrumentation techniques, DNA profiling, document examination etc.

On the other hand, BTech Biotechnology focuses on biological processes in a technical way to manufacture a quality product. So, both courses have different perspectives but biology is the common factor of the two courses.

RR Group of Institutions offers B.Tech in Biotechnology, and it may not be the top choice for this field in Bangalore, it provides a decent academic performance .
Placements in Biotechnology may not be as good  as in other engineering domains like Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering .
If Compared to specialised biotech colleges  , RR Group may not have as strong industry connections for biotech placements . Opportunities might be less, and students would  need to look outside campus placements for roles in biotech companies?

Hi Sanjana

Your rank in TS EAMCET can be the good enough for B.Tech Biotechnology course for colleges like CBIT Hyderabad. The rank is good in the range of top BTech colleges of Telangana. You can move with counselling and expect a top tier college.

You're not eligible for a BTech in Biotechnology programme without Mathematics. Most BTech programs, including Biotechnology, have Mathematics as a mandatory core subject throughout the program. The curriculum for a BTech in Biotechnology typically includes courses like:

  • Calculus
  • Linear Algebra
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Numerical Methods

BSc Biotechnology is 3 years (six semesters) and BTech Biotechnology is 4 years (8 semesters). Comparatively, BSc Biotechnology is much more relaxed than BTech, the number of coursework and lab work will be less and you will be introduced to the core subjects right from the first year whereas in BTech 1st year will have common engineering coursework (Refer any university syllabus) with very little or no core subjects.

From 2nd year there will be 6 or 7 coursework and 3 or 4 lab works to complete in each semester. This can change from one university to another but it won't be less than that. Most BSc courses may not include chemical

B.Tech Biotechnology cutoff ranks differ from college to college and according to seat categories as well. To illustrate the point, here are approximate cut-offs: Osmania University has a typical range of 25,000 to 30,000; JNTU Hyderabad’s usually lies between 20,000 and 25,000; cut-offs for Kakatiya University mostly fall between 30,000 and 35,000 and Andhra University’s figures for 2002 were in the range of 25,000 to 30,000. However, remember that these figures are not fixed and may vary yearly based on factors such as category etc. Hence it is important to check the latest cut-offs for an accurate information.

Graduates of IILM University in Greater Noida's B.Tech in Biotechnology (Computational Biology) program have found employment in biotech companies, pharmaceutical companies, and research, with a moderate degree of success in placement. Still, with more established industry ties and higher placement rates, UPES Dehradun often has a stronger biotechnology placement record. If placements are a top priority, UPES Dehradun might provide better options.
