Almost all of the B Tech Civil Engineering colleges in India offer some sort of relaxation, usually 5%, in marks when it comes to the admission process. For example, if the eligibility criteria for admission is 55% marks for general category students, the criteria for SC/ST/OBC categories will be 50% marks.

Similarly, if the college offers merit-based admission to the BTech Civil Engg. course, the cutoff for reserved categories will be less as compared to the general category students. Rest, you can confirm the same by going through the admission procedure as mentioned on the respective official college websites.

A lot of B Tech Civil Engineering colleges and universities admit students taking into consideration their Class 12 marks and take extra rounds like the GD or PI in such cases. Having said that, most of the top Civil Engineering colleges in India provide admission on the basis of valid entrance test scores.

The IITs and the NITs need valid JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores, for giving admission to students to the BTech Civil Engg. course. So, you should go to the official college website and see the admission guidelines to see if they provide entrance/merit-based admissions or give 50-50 weightage to both parameters.
