The entrance tests for admission to B Tech Civil Engg. are conducted at the national/state/college levels in India and are considered highly competitive, especially the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams that see cutthroat competition every year. This is because of the popularity of the engineering specialisation over the decades. The state-level and college level exams also see good competition but are comparatively easier to tackle.

There are more than 3,300 colleges in India where you can pursue BTech Civil Engineering in the full-time mode. Out of those, more than 1,500 colleges consider the JEE Main exam scores for admission to the course. Since it is one of the traditional and popular engineering specializations among students, the competition is also quite high, with relatively limited seats at top colleges, esp. the IITs and NITs.

Well, this is quite subjective and depends on the individual pursuing the course. From a neutral point of view, the integrated BTech Civil Engineering + M.Tech Environmental Engineering can be an excellent option for students to take up after completing Class 12, as it allows you to have a dual degree in 5 years, saving your time and money. Further, it lets you learn advanced concepts of the field that may lead to better career prospects and earning opportunities in the future.
So, the choice is completely up to you. Best of luck.
