You need around 60 to 70 marks out of 100 to get into JMI undergrad courses like BTech(H) Physics /Maths in first admission list. if you are in a general category.
Or if someone who is in Muslim category requires only 35 to 45 marks range to fix his/her seat in JMI.
Thanks

Well. Colleges and universities conduct counselling, if the registered candidates are huge then they conduct Counselling in many rounds and phases, suppose the college have conducted 3 rounds of Counseling yet the seats are unfilled, unoccupied. In such a situation college calls all the candidates to visit the college with their documents to get admission, whoever is available at the college on the given date avail a seat at the college.

Well, I am a 3rd-year student in VIT. Bhopal, so I think I can answer it.
Well in VIT Bhopal if you want CSE and if you have a rank between (0 to1.3Lac) you can easily get a CSE branch in category 1.

You can get colleges in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata, Dehradun, Delhi, Orissa, Tamil Nadu etc. So almost in whole India wherever you want to move according to your interest, Financial Budget and preferred branch. There are many Colleges more than 100+, so I cannot share you here but there are more than enough options for you.

See VIT admissions are divided into 2 phases
Phase 1 :rank 1 to 20k
Phase 2:rank 20k to 100k
If you have rank under 20k you are 80% sure of getting any branch .
But with donation that is phase 2 fees which is quite higher than phase 1 fees you can get other branches.
last year all the students who secured a rank below 1 lakh were called for the counselling.
Cs & IT usually fill fast and for rank above 50k would be available in cat. 4/5 whose fees is quite higher
Conclusion Cs IT difficult to get
Chances of getting are in cat. 4/5 that too in Chennai campus
If opting other branches then chances increase to a good no.
