Hi Swati, alliance accept both MAT and CAT results and for people who couldn't write their CAT or MAT exam for them it conducts it own entrance exam.

Hi,
Preparation for CAT required good amount of time & efforts.
Its not so easy to get prepared for the exam.
There are books for CAT from R S Agarwal, Arihant Publications, Arun Sharma etc. will be helpful.
Do go for CAT coaching as it helps you more than self study.
They provide you mock tests, study materials to enhance you in preparing well for the exam.
