Please remember no good B-school gives direct admission, in order to pursue MBA you need to take various management entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT etc.
Besides various national level management entrance tests, some institute even conduct entrance test of their own like:
- IBSAT: ICFAI Business Schools
- NMAT: NarseeMonjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.
- MICA: Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad.
- IIFT: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi and Kolkata.
So I would suggest you to take various management entrance test and then take admission in good B-school.

Yes with proper preparation and hard work non engineers may surely crack crack CAT exam.
I would suggest you to:
- Start with self-preparation and stick to it for few weeks and revise your class 10 and 12th maths (CBSE/ICSE if possible) to strengthen your basics.
- The number of hours that you are required to put in depends on your individual aptitude since you are a from non- engineering background so for you a minimum of 3-4 hours of self study apart from caching is a must.
- Regularly give mock test, based on your performance in mock tests you may know in area you are strong and in which areas you need more hard work.
- After spending considerable time in preparation it would also be advisable for you to set a clear cut target about your aspirations, whether you are planning to take admission only in top 10 colleges or top 20 colleges or top 30 colleges. The target must be realistic based on your self-analysis your preparation and your confidence in yourself.

In order to pursue full time MBA or PGDM program you need to be graduate in any field with atleast 50% marks in graduation, plus you need to take various management entrance test like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, etc.
Besides the entrance tests mentioned above some institutes even conduct entrance tests of their own.
Please note that without giving any entrance test it is not possible to get admission in MBA program.
Please note that each B-schools shortlists candidates for second stage of selection which may be independent of each other.
The process may include
- Written Test (WT).
- Group Discussions (GD)
- Personal Interviews (PI).
Performance in various management entrance tests is an important component in the admission process.
