You are eligible for CEED exam. The eligibility criteria of CEED is given below. Eligibility : Candidates must have completed a degree / Diploma / post graduate degree programme of
minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a programme by July 2021, or must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2021. Note that the eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes may differ from the eligibility criteria for appearing for CEED. Before applying for CEED. Candidates are advised to check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes. There is no age limit to appear for CEED. A candidate can appear for CEED any number of times. The eligibility criteria of IDC IIT Mumbai for M.Des. Programmes is given below. Eligibility :
1. Bachelors Degree in Design/Engineering/Architecture/ Interior Design: 10+2+4 years (minimum four year Bachelors course). Four year B.Sc. (engineering) course after HSC considered equivalent to BE/B.Tech.
2. Professional Diploma in Design: 10+2+4 years (minimum four year Diploma programme).
3. BFA (4 Year professional programme with entry after 10+2)
4. GD Art (4 year programme after 1 year foundation. Minimum entry requirement 10th pass)
So from above IIT Mumbai required the minimum 4 years of a Bachelor degree in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior design. So your B.Sc. Degree holders in Animation are not eligible for M.Des. Courses.

No this is not necessary because NID and NIFT conducts their own entrance exam for M.Des admissions. However one can get admission in top design institutes in M.Des courses through CEED. The objective of the Common Entrance Exam for Design CEED is to assess the candidates aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem solving skills. CEED is conducted by IIT Bombay. It is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design M.Des programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur and IIITDM Jabalpur, and to Ph.D. programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur. Qualifying in CEED alone does not guarantee admission to any of these programmes. Admitting institutes may conduct further tests and / or interviews for the final selection / admission. The CEED 2021 score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result.

A candidate can appear for CEED any number of times. So from above, because you are in 7th semester of your B.Tech course so you are not eligible for CEED. However you can be eligible in 8th/ Final semester of your B.Tech course.

Candidates who are applying in the EWS / SC / ST / OBC-NCL category have to produce valid category certificates (. Pdf file) issued by appropriate authorities. EWS / OBC-NCL certificates issued only from April 1,2020 onwards are accepted for the examination. The candidates must produce a valid category Certificate at the time of applying for the admission in the respective institute. Format of the OBC-NCL Certificate is given in the Appendix 2. Format of the SC / ST certificates is given in the Appendix 3. Format of the EWS Certificate is given in Appendix 4. Please remember that the documents 1-7 above are to be uploaded as electronic files during the online registration. Paper copies of these documents or any other documents will not be entertained and hence should NOT be sent to the UCEED-CEED office. The Admit Card and the Score Card of CEED will include the photograph and signature submitted by the candidate. Submission of poor quality photograph and / or signature may lead to the rejection of CEED registration.
