No this is not necessary because NID and NIFT conducts their own entrance exam for M.Des admissions. However one can get admission in top design institutes in M.Des courses through CEED. The eligibility criteria of CEED is given below. Eligibility: Candidates must have completed a degree / Diploma / post graduate degree programme of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a programme by July 2021, or must have passed the GD Arts Dip

For undergaduate course in Designing (B.Design) IIT Bombay accept UCEED Score while for postgraduate degree (M.Des) it accept CEED Score.
