CEED Important Dates 2026 - CEED 2026 scorecard was released on March 10, 2026. The last date for downloading the CEED Scorecard will be July 31, 2026. User Login and password are required to view the scorecard. Results for CEED 2026 Entrance Exam were declared on March 04, 2026.

IIT CEED Cutoff for Part-A was out on February 05, 2026, 05:00 pm. CEED final answer key for Part-A was out on January 28, 2026. IIT CEED Entrance Exam was conducted on January 18, 2026.

IIT Bombay declared CEED 2026 Result on March 04, 2026. The result included the Part A marks for all candidates who appeared for the exam. Part B marks will be released only for candidates who meet the Part A CEED 2026 cut-off. Cut-off marks for CEED Part-A were announced on February 05, 2026 at 5 PM.

The CEED 2026 Score Cards were made available on March 10, 2026, on the Candidate portal. It can be downloaded till July 31, 2026. It is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result.

CEED Counselling Date

IIT Bombay does not conduct any counselling for M.Des and Ph.D programmes offered by IIT. Candidates need to apply individually to all the institutes based on their scores and fill the Admission form of the IITs and other result-sharing and participating institutes. After applying, they need to complete the formalities or tests, which will be conducted by the institutes.

Candidates need to directly contact the institutes to understand the admission process of M.Des and Ph.D.

CEED 2026 Application Dates

CEED Application was open from October 01, 2025 to November 05, 2025 with regular fees. Candidates were also given a chance to fill CEED Registration form with late fees from November 06, 2025 to November 10, 2025. CEED 2026 application form is now closed

Registration forms for CEED are available on the website of CEED and can be filled by adding details like name, email ID, and phone number. On registration, an applicant account is created. Next, you have to fill the rest of the form, including personal, academic and contact details. After uploading the documents, you will have to pay CEED 2026 application fees and submit the form.

CEED Admit Card Date

Eligible candidates who complete the application process are issued admit cards by IIT Bombay. CEED Admit Card for 2026 was issued on January 02, 2026 for all the candidates. CEED admit card could be downloaded online by providing one's registered email ID and password. All the candidates must carry CEED Hall ticket to write the CEED Entrance Exam.

In case of any error in the admit card, candidates must get it rectified as soon as possible. Discrepancies in the admit cards were permitted to be fixed by January 08, 2026, 5:00 pm. To report discrepancies in the admit card, candidates must write to IIT CEED.

CEED Exam Dates

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2026 is a national-level design entrance examination conducted by IIT Bombay for M.Des and Ph.D programmes. CEED offers admission in IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur.

CEED 2026 entrance exam was conducted on January 18, 2026. The exam was conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM at the designated centres. The reporting time was 7 AM. The CEED question paper had two parts - Part A was conducted for the first hour, and Part B was conducted for the next two hours.

CEED Answer Key Dates

IIT Bombay releases both CEED Draft Answer Key and Final Answer Key for the Entrance Exam. It is released on the CEED website. No credentials are required to download the CEED Answer Key. The draft key was released on January 19, 2026. The key was only released for Part A. No keys are released for the subject-based Part B. The last date of uploading comments about CEED draft answer key for Part-A was January 22, 2026

 The final key for CEED was released on January 28, 2026 at 5 PM.

CEED Important Dates 2026 - FAQs

Q:   When will the CEED 2026 website be launched?
A: 

IIT Bombay launched the exam portal for CEED 2026 on October 1, 2025.

The admission portal was activated along with the release of the admission notification. Candidates can access the admission portal at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The admission portals include segments like important dates, examination information, program, download, and contact information. The candidate can check the key exam date in the important date section. 

 

Q:   Can I get admission in M.Des programme if I do not meet Part A cut-off?
A: 

IIT Bombay will release the qualifying cut-off for Part A in the first week of February 2026. Cut-off is released in the form of mean and standard deviation. 

The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2025) are 45.48 and 16.98, respectively and for Part A (CEED 2024) were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively.

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.

So, if you don’t meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, note that only shortlisted candidates will be assigned a merit rank in CEED 2026.

Q:   Can I prepare for CEED without coaching?
A: 

It is very much possible to prepare for CEED without coaching. If you prepare for the exam on your own, you need to be serious and plan the preparation smartly. After going through the syllabus, you must be able to decide the difficulty level, the time it will take to cover the syllabus, and revise. 

Remember, there are many instances of toppers who managed to ace the CEED exam without the aid of any coaching. Further, the outcome may not depend on whether you do coaching or not, but on the quality of your preparation.

Q:   How many students appear for CEED exam?
A: 

A total of 5090 candidates registered for CEED 2025, out of which 4371 candidates appeared, and 1848 candidates qualified in the exam. 

Q:   How many seats are there in CEED?
A: 
Seats available for CEED admission vary from one institute to the other (that accept the exam scores for admission). For e. g, IIT Hyderabad has 30 seats, while IISc Bangalore has 18 seats. Candidates are informed that CEED is just a qualifying exam. Thus, any aspirant who clears CEED exam may have to appear in further admission rounds that may be conducted by the participating college. The application process at the participating colleges typically open once the CEED entrance exam results are announced.
Q:   Is the CEED exam tough?
A: 

The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.

Q:   What is the application fee of CEED 2026?
A: 

The updated application fee that candidates have to pay an application fee when applying for the CEED exam is shown below.

Women candidates - INR 2000

SC, ST, PwD candidates - INR 2000

All other candidates - INR 4000

The candidate will have to pay a fee as per the category they belong. If the candidate selects the wrong category and pay the wrong feels, he or she may be disqualified. So, care must be taken when selecting ones category.

Q:   What should I do if I am not able to complete a particular topic from the CEED 2026 syllabus?
A: 

The CEED 2026 syllabus is vast. If you are not able to complete a chapter or topic, it is better to leave it and start another topic. Once you are done with the easier topics, you can come back and study the difficult ones. 

Q:   Whom should I contact if I have any problem with CEED 2026 registration process?
A: 

Candidates must report any issue faced by them while filling the CEED application form by clicking on the 'Report Problem' tab that is present on the right side of the application process windows. The tab is highlight in yellow colour. On clicking this tab, candidates had to elaborate on the problem that they are experiencing and also mention their registration number.

It was recommended that candidates fill out the form as soon as possible and don't wait for the last few days. It is because students could face server or other such issues which could delay or hinder the application process.

Q:   What are the resources required to prepare for CEED 2026 exam?
A: 

The CEED 2026 exam was held on Jan 18, 2026. So, aspiring candidates can start preparing for the exam.

  1. Focus on the following resources to prepare for CEED:
  2. Make sure that you get the best books to prepare the CEED.
  3. If the study material is good, they will contain few to no errors, will cover the entire syllabus, contain practice problems, etc.
  4. Solve sample and previous year’s question and sample papers
  5. Take mock tests.
  6. When studying make it a point to take notes. These notes will help you jot down all the important points.
  7. Do timely revision.
