CEED Important Dates 2025 - IIT Bombay will release the important dates for CEED 2025 sometime in the 1st week of October 2024 (tentative).
IIT Bombay is also expected to launch the admission portal for CEED 2025 at the same time. The admission portal will include the important dates, Information Brochure, program details, and resources like answer key and question papers.
The CEED 2025 application form is expected to open in the 1st week of October 2024. The direct link to fill out the form will be provided here.
Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria will have to apply before the last date.
The CEED 2025 exam will be conducted tentatively in the 3rd week of January 2025.
The exam will be conducted in a center-based mode and will have TWO parts. Part A will be held online, whereas Part B will be an offline-based exam.
Scores of the CEED 2025 exam will be considered for admission to the M.Des program offered by participating colleges.

IIT Bombay will release the admission notification for CEED 2025 exam in October 2024. Note that IIT Bombay will launch a new admission portal for CEED 2025 - ceed.iitb.ac.in.
The portal will contain all the updates about the CEED 2025 exam. It will also contain useful recourses like previous years’ question papers.
Meanwhile, the admission notification will contain details pertaining to the admission schedule, information brochure, eligibility criteria, pattern, and resources like question papers and answer keys. The candidate needs to carefully go through the notification to ensure their eligibility and prepare for the exam.

IIT Bombay will launched the exam portal for CEED 2025 around the 1st week of October 2024.
The admission portals will be activated along with the release of the admission notification. Candidates can access the admission portal at uceed.iitb.ac.in.
The admission portals includes segments like important dates, examination information, program, download, and contact information. The candidate can check the key exam date in the important date section.
The examination section have information like examination details, admit cards, exam cities, etc. Meanwhile, the candidate can get information about the courses that will be offered through CEED 2025 from the “Program” section.
Q: When will the CEED 2025 exam be conducted?
IIT Bombay will conduct the CEED 2025 exam tentatively in the 3rd week of January 2025 (9 am - 12 noon).
The exam will includ two sections - Part A and Part B. Part A of the exam will be administered in a computer-based mode, whereas Part B will be held offline. It is mandatory for candidates to qualify for Part A.
If the candidate fails to qualify for Part A, his or her Part B answers booklet will not be evaluated.
The final score cum merit list of CEED 2025 will be calculated by giving weightage to both Part A and Part B.
CEED 2025 Important Exam Events & Dates
Candidates taking the CEED exam can go through important exam events for the design entrance exam below.
- CEED Application Dates: IIT Bombay will release the CEED application form sometime in October 2024. The entire application process will be conducted online.
- CEED Admit Card Dates: Eligible candidates who complete the application process will be issued admit cards. The CEED admit card has to be downloaded online by providing one's registered email ID and password.
- CEED Exam: The design entrance exam will be conducted in January 2025 (tentative). The CEED question paper will have two parts - Part A will be conducted for the first hour and Part B will be conducted for the next two hours.
- CEED Answer Key: The draft key will be released within a day or two of the conduct of the entrance exam. Note that the key will only be released for Part A. No keys will be released for the subjective-based Part B. The final key will be released around the last week of January 2025.
- CEED Result: IIT Bombay will declare CEED 2025 results around the 1st week of March 2025. Candidates can check their results by providing details such as their registered email address and password.

Q: Can I prepare for CEED 2025 without coaching?
It is very much possible to prepare for CEED without coaching. But before you embark on exam preparation on your own, you need the conviction that you can do it. If you are not convinced yourself and only decide to forgo coaching on the advice of others, the journey may be difficult.
If you prepare for the exam on your own, you need to be serious and plan the preparation smartly. For instance, after going through the syllabus, you must be able to decide the difficulty level, time it will take to cover the syllabus, and do revision.
Remember, there are many instances of toppers who managed to ace the CEED exam without the aid of any coaching. Further, the final outcome may not depend on whether you do coaching or not, but the quality of your preparation.
Q: Can I fill out the CEED 2025 application form with late fee?
Yes, there will be an option to fill out the CEED 2025 application form with late fees. The window to submit applications with late fees will open soon after the regular window closes. Candidates applying for CEED 2025 after regular registration window closes will have to pay a late fee of INR 500.
The late fee will have to be paid at the time of filling out the form.
Note that once the late application windows close, the candidate will not be able to apply for CEED 2025 any longer.
Q: When will the application form for CEED 2025 open?
The CEED 2025 applications will open tentatively in October 2025. The application has to be filled online at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The candidate needs to carefully go through the brochure to check their eligibility. Note that information entered by the candidate at the time of submitting their application form will be verified at the time of counseling. Any candidate who doesn’t meet the criteria will be disqualified.

Q: When will the admit card of CEED 2025 will be released?
IIT Bombay will issue admit card for CEED 2025 in the 1st week of January 2025 (tentative). Admit cards issued to all candidates who have successfully registered for the exam.
The candidate were able to download the admit card online at ceed.iitb.ac.in. To download the admit card, log in to the candidate portals using your login details.
On the day of the exam, the candidate had to bring with them the admit card and a valid photo id proof. The admit card will contain details like the name, roll number, exam date, exam timings, and name and address of the exam center.

CEED 2025 Application Form
The application form for CEED 2025 will be released sometime in October 2024. Eligible candidates will have to fill out the application form before the last date.

Q: What is the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 entrance exam?
To appear in the CEED 2025 exam, the candidate must have passed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate degree exam of minimum three years. There is no limit on the upper age limit or number of attempts for appearing in CEED. The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet for appearing in the CEED have been explained below. Qualifying exam - The candidate must have completed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate programme of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2). Or, Appearing for the final exam of such a programme by July 2025 or, Must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5) level by July 2024. Age limit - No upper age limit. Number of Attempts - The CEED exam can be attempted any number of times. It is incumbent on the candidate to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling out the CEED application form. It is because if the candidate doesn't meet any of the criteria, then he or she can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.
Q: What is the application fee of CEED 2025?
IIT Bombay has revised the application fee for CEED.
The updated application fee that candidates have to pay an application fee when applying for the CEED exam is shown below.
Women candidates - INR 1900
SC, ST, PwD candidates - INR 1900
All other candidates - INR 3800
The candidate will have to pay a fee as per the category they belong. If the candidate selects the wrong category and pay the wrong feels, he or she may be disqualified. So, care must be taken when selecting ones category.
Q: When should I start my preparation for CEED 2025?
The CEED 2025 exam will be conducted tentatively in the 4th week of January 2025.
So, the candidate has a little more than 6 months to prepare for the exam. Given the CEED 2025 syllabus is of moderate to difficult, you would ideally need 6 months or so to prepare for the exam.
That being said, if your fundamentals are strong, you can cover the syllabus in less time. Before starting you preparation, go through the syllabus and pattern, and draft a plan. Once the plan is ready, get going with full guns blazing.
Note that to fully prepare for the exam, you need to solve sample papers and take mock tests.

The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.

Q: Can I get admission in M.Des programme if I do not meet Part A cut-off?
IIT Bombay will release the qualifying cut-off for Part A tenatively in the 2nd week of February 2025.
Note that cut-off is released in the form of mean and standard deviation.
In the last edition of the exam, the mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2024) were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively.
The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.
So, if you don’t meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, note that only shortlisted candidates will be assigned a merit rank in CEED 2025.

The participating institutes of CEED 2025 will offer admission to the M.Des courses based on CEED 2025 scores only. They will not accept scores of other entrance exams for admission process. Also, IIT Bombay will conduct a Joint Seat Allotment Process or Counseling for the participating institutes.
