Opt for the engineering branch that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyse the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission
You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of aptitude, personality and career interest to clear confusion.

It's very nice to see your enthusiasm for doing a stint of internship during your graduation of engineering. Actually, you may be ahead of times. GOI has just announced three weeks internship during engineering course may be introduced from next academic session. But in your case, the prospective company has to accept you and a letter from your college allowing you to do so. Once you have these two, then you can go for an internship.

The best will depend on the person. PGD and Master's degree are different, also it will be difficult to find a PGD in the engineering discipline in Canada. If you want to do a Master's degree then you must be academically very strong, more than 75% is required. You must have very strong LORs, project works, etc. You can make your career mainly in RnD field. So, you decide which is the best for your by going through programme syllabus, related careers, and admission requirements.
