6 band in IELTS is not enough to get a student visa. I can suggest universities which accept 6 band and you can get admission successfully, but your visa will get rejected which means you will lose the admission fee for the first semester as you can't fly to Canada. So reappear for IELTS exam and aim to score at least 6.5 band or above.

Civil engineering and architecture are different fields which cannot be compared as such.
Architecture is more of creativity and civil is the application part of that creativity, so I think which one is better depends on your interest and caliber and should be chosen accordingly.
I would prefer civil engineering over architecture in the current scenario in terms of scope in government sector.

Hi Saurabh,
It is possible to receive a scholarship for your Ph.D programs depending on your GRE & educational scores and of course availability of grants with universities. It is worth a try.

You can't compare two different engineering backgrounds. However, civil engineering is considered the core branch and it has more chances to offer government job instead of information technology. This branch is easy to understand and it is also good for higher studies because there are many sister branches of civil engineering. Information technology is a new and challenging background. If you are very good in logic and aptitude then you can choose this one too.
