Hello!

For B.Tech Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), direct admission without appearing for the entrance exam is generally not allowed. The admission process is primarily based on the MHT-CET exam or JEE Main scores, as COEP follows the centralized admission process (CAP) for undergraduate programs. However, some seats may be available through management quota, which could potentially allow for direct admission.

Best of luck with your journey ahead!

To get admission into the Second Year (SY) B.Tech at COEP through lateral entry, complete your FY Engineering or a Diploma with at least 45% (General) or 40% (Reserved) marks. Admission is based on MHT-CET Lateral Entry, so aim for a 90+ percentile to secure a seat in popular branches. Ensure you meet eligibility criteria, as competition is high, especially for core branches like Computer Science and Mechanical. Strong academic performance improves your chances significantly.

To secure admission to COEP, focus on entrance exams like MHT-CET or JEE Mains, as board marks only determine eligibility. You need at least 45% (General) or 40% (Reserved) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in your 12th boards. For MHT-CET, aim for a 99+ percentile (145+ marks) for top branches, while a JEE Mains rank below 30,000 is ideal for core branches. Strong entrance exam scores, not board marks, are crucial for admission into COEP.

As far as B.Tech Metallurgy under the OBC NCL category at COEP Pune is concerned, it will be around 4573 as per the recent statistics. A CET score of 90.32 would not be sufficient as previous cutoffs depict that generally, candidates need to have a rank more than 95%ile. For this year's admission cycle of 2024, the candidate should check the recent cutoff trends and details at the official website of COEP.
