Yes, HPU offers BTech/ BTech (Hons) Lateral Entry for three-years. Aspirants can apply for lateral entry in Information Technology, CSE, ECE, etc. Aspirants who have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with other elective subjects with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) can apply for BTech (LE).

Candidates need to pass Class 12 examination or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and other elective subjects with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) to apply for HPU Shimla BTech/ BTech (Hons) programme. 

Aspirants applying for BTech must not be more than 22 years in age as on July 1 of the year of admission.

Yes, UIT under Himachal Pradesh University offers full-tuition fee waiver to six candidates (3 to students with annual income less than INR 2.5 Lacs per annum, 2 to meritorious girls and 1 to Physically Challenged) in each Engineering branch as per AICTE norms. Further, all the physically challenged candidates are exempted from all kinds of fee whatsoever (except refundable security deposit).
