No, you can not get into NIT Nagaland's BTech programme without having appeared in JEE Mains. The main selection criteria of the course is scores obtained in the JEE Mains exam only, hence, admission without it is not possible. Participating in the JoSAA counselling is also necessary.

NIT Nagaland offers BTech at the UG level in full-time mode. The eligibility criteria of the programme is as follows:
- Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 75% from a recognised board
- Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12

Cutoff information for admission to B.Tech at Nagaland University varies by specialization. For the B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering, the cutoff ranks for the General All India category students were 22998 in Round 1 and 41149 in the Last Round for the 2023 admissions.
Similarly, for Electronics and Communication Engineering, the JEE Mains rank cutoff was 55187 in 2021 with a minimum score of 95 percentile.
These cutoff ranks indicate the competitiveness of different specializations within the B.Tech programme at Nagaland University.

NIT Nagaland JEE Main cutoff 2025 has been released for round 1. The cutoff was released for candidates belonging to the All India quota. Among the General AI category candidates, the closing ranks in round 1 varied between 32418 and 52097. Among the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 10142 and 15994. NIT Nagaland offers admission to the MSc courses based on the IIT JAM entrance exam, followed by the CCMN counselling process. For 2025 admission, the Round 1 closing ranks varied between 1835 and 1858 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. Specialisation with the lowest cutoff rank of 1835 was M.Sc. in Physics.
