NIT Nagaland cutoff 2024 has been released on the basis of JEE Main scores followed by the JoSAA counselling. The Round 1 cutoff has been released for BTech courses for General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PWD categories. During the NIT Nagaland BTech cutoff 2024, the Round 1 closing ranks ranged between 27265 and 49671 wherein CSE was the most competitive course with the lowest rank. Direct admission is not offered for MSc at NIT Nagaland. Admission to MSc is based on the JAM scores followed by CCMN counselling. However, the institute conducts entrance exam to fill the vacant seats after CCMN counselling. Further, before applying for the MSc programme, candidates must qualify for the course-wise eligibility criteria.
Eligibility criteria: Bachelor's degree Bsc with 60% aggregate in Chemistry as Honours/Major

Exam dates for IIT JAM for admission to NIT Nagaland MSc is scheduled on February 11,2024. As per the exam pattern of IIT Jam, the exam is conducted online as a Computer Based Test (CBT). IIT Jam will have two papers, Paper 1 will include Chemistry, Geology, and Mathematics. Paper 2 will cover economics, Biotechnology, Physics, and Mathematics Statitics. The duration of the IIT Jam exam is three hours and has Multiple Choice (MCQ) and Integer Value (Numerical Value Answer) type questions. IIT Jam exam papers will be for 100 marks.

IIT JAM 2025 examination for the academic session 2025-2026 will be conducted by IIT Delhi, the examination conducting body. Aspirants who had earlier filled the JAM 2025 application form with the required eligibility will be able to give the JAM 2025 examination. IIT JAM 2025 examination is scheduled to be held on February 2, 2025. JAM 2025 is a Computer Based Test (CBT) to be conducted in SEVEN Test Papers at the undergraduate level.

For admission to MSc programme at NIT Nagaland candidate must complete the institution's entrance standards, which include achieving a valid score in the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test for MSc followed by CCMN Counselling. Also candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria i.e. Bachelor's degree with 60% aggregate. NIT Meghalaya conducts its own admission process for the left over seats from the CCMN counselling process.

NITNagaland offeres two years full-time MSc progarmme especially for the graduate students to pursue their studies in the fields of science. However, candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the institution, which are as follows:
- Candidates must have bachelor’a degree in BSc with 60% aggregate
- Must qualify for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT Jam) with a valid score

NIT Nagaland is among the newly established NITs in the northeast region. It managed to secure 201-250 band under Engineering category. As for its placement, NIT Nagaland hasn't released the 2023 placement report. However, its previous year's placement was very decent. Yes, NIT Nagaland does offers MSc at postgraduate level. The MSc specialisation offered are in Physics and Chemistry at NIT Nagaland. Admission to the MSc programme is based on candidates performance in the qualifying exam i.e. bacheloir’s degree in BSc. Also candiates must apply via the CCMN counselling and later appear for the NIT Nagaland entrance exam for the left over seats.

The total seat intake of the MSc at NIT Nagaland is 20. The seats are distributed among the two specialisations i.e. Chemistry intakes 10 and Physics intakes 10. As per the seat allocation guidelines, candidates must participate in the CCMN counselling for MSc seat allocation. However, if candidates fail to secure seats via the counselling they can opt for the institute mode, which required students to apply vis the NIT Nagaland's official website and appear for the entrance exam.
