The UG course is offered by the open university in three specialisations. BAOU offer a three-year BA course in English, Sociology, and Economics. Admission to the courses is merit-based. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can apply by filling out the application form. The university accepts applications for BA courses via online mode. Candidates can hence visit the BAOU website to fill out the application. At the time of form filling, important documents such as Class 10 and 12 pass certificates also have to be uploaded. The form shall further be submitted within the due date.

Aspirants who have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board are eligible to apply for a BA course in BAOU Ahmedabad. Candidates shall have the pass certificate with them at the time of form filling or at the time of admission (if required). In addition, the candidates who have passed B.P.P. examination are also eligible to apply.

The admission process for the UG course commences with the release of the application form. Candidates who submit the application within the due date become eligible for admission. As per the official website, the admissions are currently open for BROU. 

The total tuition fee for two-year MA courses ranges from INR 7,600 to INR 40,000. BAOU offers a fee concession to female candidates. Besides, aspirants also need to pay an application fee to register for the course.

The open university offers MA courses in five specialisations in the streams of Humanities & Social Sciences, Mass Communication & Media. The MA specialisations offered by BAOU are Hindi, English, Sociology, Gujarati, Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC). Candidates can apply for any of the MA specialisations after completing graduation.

Admission to the MA course is offered based on the aspirant’s performance in the last qualifying examinations. Hence, the applicant’s aggregate in the bachelor’s or UG course is taken into consideration. It is further also necessary that each applicant fulfils the minimum eligibility requirements – a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

The mode of teaching at BAOU Ahmedabad is through distance education mode. Study material is provided to students in the form of hard and soft copies. The study material can be downloaded online or is also sent by post for the convenience of the students. Further, students shall check the BAOU website frequently for updates.
