You chose to do diploma in engineering but now are not interested in doing graduation in engineering. Correct? What is your passion? If it's not Engineering then time is now itself to change stream to the one in which you have passion. Don't bother about lost years at this stage.

For that, you should discuss with your year co-ordinator and HOD with a valid reason as why you want to change your department.

Hello Kasthuti,
The placements are really good and nearly 80 Companies have visited the campus for placements last year.
That includes many MNCs.
For EEE, there are good amount of core companies too.
