If you want to make your career in your core subject, just stick to your core companies only. Firstly, you need to increase your field experience. So, whatever the salary you may get, do not hesitate as a fresher but try to increase your practical knowledge and thereafter, you may get more better opportunities step by step.

Salary bracket always depends on many aspects like experience, job location and of course academic qualification and technical expertise.
As I see you will fall into fresher category, the expected salary can be around 8k to 20k (approx).

Company and government jobs have two different profiles. Both have positives and negatives and both pose their own set of unique challenges. If you are looking for a government job, then you will have to apply to companies like the following: GAIL, SAIL, HPCL, IOCL, BHEL, BEL, ISRO, DRDO, etc., or you can go for IES or IAS. All three options involve clearing a tough competitive all India exam such as GATE, IES or IAS.
I hope this answers your question.

For diploma, you have job opportunities in RRB as junior engineers. Also, you'll have the opportunity as line man in TRANSCO and APSPDCL.
It is better to take coaching for SSC (central governments jobs) under (10+2) and for Junior Electrical Engineer jobs.
