IIT, Kanpur in no way is a better choice than IIT, Kharagpur due to various reasons.
IIT, Kanpur students enjoy lots of freedom and can feel independent as the college administration makes you feel mature enough to take rational judgements whereas norms are strict at IIT, Kharagpur.
IIT, Kanpur has an average placement of 12 LPA and highest reaching up to 23 LPA whereas in IIT, Kharagpur it is 10.5 LPA, highest reaching up to 19 lakh.
Although, the labs and all other equipment related facilities are remarkable in both the institutes but still, Kanpur campus is more vibrant than Kharagpur consisting a pool of talented minds in it.

Electrical engineering is among the best engineering branches in every term of placement, research and further studies.
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is among the best engineering Institutes of India. Very much placement ratio is seen here at every year in every branch.

It depends on you that in which field you want to go or in which field you are interested in. Some are interested in studying further by giving GATE and do M.Tech. Some students want to go abroad and study there, so they give exams accordingly, while some wants to be IAS officer, collector and whatever related to government officers they give exams accordingly. So, it is all upon you that in which field you have interest. And, also if you have mentioned your question correctly like telling your interests it will be easier to answer your question, but whatever I have mentioned all you can do, now it's up to you what you want to.

Hi there,
Sardar Patel College of Engineering was established in 1962 as a government-aided engineering college. It was started with three conventional courses. viz., Civil, Electrical and Mechanical with an intake of 40 in each branch which was subsequently increased to 60. The institute is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai.
Placements:
Placements of the electrical branch are quite good here and many of the eligible students are placed in core companies.
Average package:- Rs 4 lakhs
Highest package:- Rs 26.8 lakhs for 4 years

Distance B.Tech can be pursued at your convenience, especially if you want to be employed and wish to acquire another qualification. There a many Universities who offer distance B.Tech. Please search on shiksha for the names. The duration of the course for diploma holder is lateral entry and is not 2 years with 2 semester each.
The students can download the application form and prospectus online or offline filled up and sent to the institution.
Average fees for the course: 1.5 to 2 lacs

According to me, Veermata Jijabai Technology Institute is better than Sardar Patel College of Engineering because of much better infrastructure, faculty, facilities, and campus.
Let see the comparison between the two colleges:
1) VJTI:-
It takes about 60 students in electrical engineering and out of them most of the students gets placed.
It accepts admissions from MHCET exam.
Average package is about Rs 6.8 Lacs for the students of electrical engineering in the placement.
The highest package is Rs 27 Lacs.
Recruiters:- Morgan Stanley, Samsung, Cisco, Bank of America, HDCF, Microsoft, Torrent, Reliance, Airtel, Godrej, l&tT, etc.
