You can get your B.Tech degree under lateral entry scheme from any good college, you will gain a good amount of experience also. After that, you can think of MBA. As I think, nowadays, it is mandatory to have a degree from a good college with basic knowledge in that field.

Aah, the Shakespearen dilemma! Actually it's like which flower is better! Okay. Different branches in engineering don the top flavour of choice in different points in time. Hardly any branch has retained it's top position except perhaps IT/CSE. Both the branches mentioned by you can be called as evergreen branches. Both have similar chances of placements. In view of the above, I have no doubt to advise you that please select the branch that fascinates you the most. Best wishes to you.
