Hello Karan,
It's of course possible. In fact many institutes of eminence have as eligibility condition 'graduation in branch'. But one needs to clear GATE paper in the desired subject. Here things become interesting. It definitely will be tough initially but then human mind is such that, we find it easy if we like it. My personal opinion is why not PG in own branch? But please go ahead if this new branch is what you like.
Best wishes.

Hello dear, You can not predict the benefit/loss of any course of duration three/four years. Market scenario is changing day by day. But keeping in mind the present, you can grab jobs in IOCL, NTPC, BSNL, BEL, BHEL, etc. In government sectors and number of opportunity in private sector only if you prove yourself this is not the requirement only from ECE student but from all engineering students. Earn the skill, keep adding things in your resume, update yourself with the interested companies activities. Good luck.

You should choose Electronics rather than Mechanical. This will benefit you for all the fields like hardware and software, and the placements are really good in AKGEC in ECE while placements in Mechanical branch is approximately zero in every college of UPTU. Most of the students are preparing for GATE to get better placements.

Hi Keerthana,
The placements at DSATM for BE in electronics and communication engineering are really very good. The placement ratio is around 90 %.
The average package is around 4 to 5 LPA.
The placements of this branch will increase with good amount of packages. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Flipkart, Cognizant, Wipro, Makemytrip, TCS, Samsung, Qualcomm, etc. takes students from here.

You can definitely get a decent job in Kolkata if you have the required skills. Electronics and instrumentation engineering do provide a lot of scope in both IT and non-IT sector. But remember one thing, don't be assured that a company will allow you to work only at one city. You may have to go at other places as well.

There is a wide difference between the fields you are talking about and you can study further in any branch you take up, I would suggest that choose a field of your interest. And yes if you wish to study abroad then definitely DJSCOE has an upper hand as it provides more exposure.
All the best.
