Eligibility for lateral entry into mechanical engineering will depend on what was your branch for Diploma. Of course, you can get a particular college if you have scored very good marks.

No,there is no work experience required to get admission in B.Tech lateral entry program in DTU but in any engineering college. You are free to apply.

Hi, now you are doing Diploma after that you will get admission to directly in the second year of engineering in any college as per your rank. When you fill direct second year admission form you can easily change your branch and you will get admission in the branch which is mentioned in your admission form. So yes you can get admission through lateral entry.

B.Tech in lateral entry is a process in which students who have studied Diploma after 10th or 12th and wish to study further can get admission in B.Tech college directly into the 2nd year because they had studied enough in their Diploma so that they didn't need 1st-year study.
But if you are a B.Sc graduate then you can't go for B.Tech lateral entry.
