The Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IME), Mumbai, is one of the self-finance institutions established as a Diploma and degree granting institution in engineering stream only. The engineering degree awarded by IME, Mumbai is recognised by Government of Maharashtra and contains employment validity. NAAC has also accredited institure as B+ and our institure name is Institute of Management Education. It admires about 240 students for its degree programs each year for its programs and all its courses are accredited with All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The institute comes up with a reasonable placement percentage of 70-80% of the students placed in various esteemed companies which offer average salary package of INR 3.5-4.5 Lacs per annum.

Coming to tier 2 and 3 engineering colleges in Kolkata, being affordable institutes they do not compromise on quality education. Some of the famous tier – II colleges include Heritage Institute of Technology, this college have an average fees structure of INR 1,16,000 per annum and average placement offer of INR 3.5 Lacs per annum. Another pursuing institute is Narula Institute of Technology charging an average fee of INR 1,40,000 per annum while giving an average package of INR 4 lakhs. The other colleges that are also providing decent level of education are Tier 3 colleges such as Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, JIS College of Engineering, Bengal Institute of Technology, etc. Their average annual fees vary from INR 86,750 to INR 1,38,000. These colleges have a total intake of about 2,500-3,000 students per year.

Mechanical Engineering Diploma course is offered in Government Polytechnic College, Khunimajra. The college has a fairly decent placement record, out of 106 students more than 60 students got placed in branded companies such as Eicher Infotech Pvt Ltd, Mattress Manufacturers, S& ML, JJ Industries, Autocap Baddi, Speedy Jets, Godrej, BEL, HCL & INNMS for the session year 2019-20. 

Though the college did not report exact details on the placement of girls especially in Mechanical Engineering branch, the College does accord its students standard placement services for its students. In total, the college offers 310 seats for Diploma courses and the annual fee of a three years Diploma course is 69000 INR. 

The candidate should have an EAMCET-TS rank below 590 for a free seat in Osmania University (OU). This is based on anonymous compilations of the ranks of previous years for OU and from last year, the cutoff for the general category was 590. For other categories, the cutoff ranks were: Control amount reaches 820 for OBC, 1,050 for SC, and 1,200 for ST.
