Without any doubts the most preferred branch of engineering these days is CSE, IT. Then as per the orientation of the person, he will priorities other branches. Recently AICTE allowed almost 2L seats of engineering colleges to be scrapped. As per one report these belonged to Civil, Aeronautical and some exotic branches. Be that as it may, always remember "there is always room at the top". Meaning hard work always pays irrespective of branch.
