The PTE exam scoring involves machine-based and human-based evaluation where scoring is done in two ways:
- Correct or Incorrect
- Partial Credit
The correct/incorrect questions are marked are given 1 mark for each correct response and no mark for each incorrect response.
The Partial Credit scoring incolves questions that are scored as correct, partially correct or incorrect. If responses to these questions are correct, the maximum score points available will be received. If they are only partly correct, some score points will be given, but less than the maximum available. If responses are incorrect, no score points will be re

Generally the Speaking section is considered the most difficult part of the PTE exam. This is because of the following reasons:
- Time Pressure: You have only a few seconds to some minutes to understand the prompt and record your response.
- Integrated Scoring: Poor performance in Speaking heavily damages your Reading and Listening scores as well.
According to review from several students, the single most difficult task in the Speaking section of the PTE exam for most test-takers is considered to be "Repeat Sentence", as it is a test of short-term memory and pronunciation under pressure.

Leiden University expects a minimum score of 6.5 or above in IELTS. Along with this, international applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate their English language proficiency. The university recommends students to achieve the following minimum scores in any one of the English exams:

Yes, one question type has been removed, and another has been replaced after the new change in the Duolingo English Test. The Read Aloud question type is being removed from the test to maintain the current test length. To maintain the test duration, updated Interactive Speaking will replace the Listen, Then Speak question type.

Yes, international applicants coming from diverse countries to the University of California, San Francisco must demonstrate their English language proficiency to be admitted to any program.
