It is indeed very nice to know that after having completed your civil engineering you have decided to seek admission for your Mtech in IIT Mumbai. Environmental science engineering is one of the latest branches and deals with different issues that affect the environment of the country and of the world and of course the Engineering solutions that are available or or being researched. Geoinformatics is another interesting branch which has also great potential for job employment as well as for research. In my view you should select the branch in which you have a great interest or the one which fascinates you the most.

Environmental Sciences (EVS) is an interdisciplinary subject where you have options to know much more interesting things from various fields. However, if you want to go for research then you have a lot of scopes. If you can qualify JRF NET then you will have clear opportunity to be a part of IITs or IISC. And if you want a handsome fellowship then in foreign Universities, you have good scopes. (In India research fellowship is only manageable amount like 25k and 28K without JRF, that's too if you have qualified NET JRF) I know this because I have some friends in the same field. Only things you need is to find the good universities and an advisory with your field of interest. Frankly speaking, if you want to become a school teacher after Masters in EVS, then you have very rare scope to use your master degree, as till now in India PGT environmental Science is not included in teacher ship job by the government. So here you can only use your experience of master degree but qualification truly is used of your graduation. You can be a junior Science teacher in your concerned graduation subject. The importance of Industrial Safety in Indian has seen an increase in recent years. The main focus of the industrial safety courses is to maintain safe operations at workplace and particularly in manufacturing industries. The most elementary concern in all such units is the safety and security measures. These concerns focus on the use of safety gears such as gloves, protective gears, etc. The use of cranes, hydraulic press, elevators, drillers, bull dozers and other such sophisticated machines are common both in indoor and outdoor factories. Skilled and trained personnel are required to operate these machines as a mere mistake may pave the way for a great disaster. These candidates are needed to perform jobs related to property and environment by anticipating, methods, measuring, auditing and evaluating the effectiveness of hazard control, protection of people, developing hazard control designs, identifying and evaluating hazardous conditions and practices, Implementing, administering and advising personnel on hazard control, etc. Besides these jobs, safety experts are required in several organizations in public sector like ILO (International Labor organization), social associations and organizations, research and development in industrial safety, etc. These professionals can also work independently as consultant or as a part time specialist.
