However, Event Management is the application of project management to the creation and development of large scale events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, or conventions. The process of planning and coordinating the event is usually referred to as event planning and can include budgeting, scheduling, site selection, acquiring necessary permits, coordinating transportation and parking, arranging for speakers or entertainers, arranging decor, event security, catering, etc.

However, the placements would be junior level placements with a very basic salary. They have really tried to make the courses industry oriented.
Unfortunately, in India, we still do not recognise Event Management as an official Industry, mostly because of its unorganised structure. This ultimately makes it difficult for an institute to design a course that will cater to the growing need of qualified professionals in Event Management.
If you are thinking of pursuing EM seriously, then try and get a job while you study EM in NIEM or any other institute. Actual on-field experience is what will help you in this field.
