Hi Shamilee,
Greetings for the day!
For a successful career in events, it is often suggested to go for hotel management for a graduation since you get to learn hospitality which is 90% of what an event is. Also, during the course, you'd get trained in handling small events in the college itself.

There is no minimum qualification requirement to become an event manager for non-corporate events. Any person with strong organizational skills and excellent PR Skills can organize non-corporate events.
However for organizing corporate events a degree/diploma in event management, PR, tourism, hospitality management, business administration or marketing is a must. This is because corporate events are organized to promote and sell company's products or services or to build/enhance its brand image.

Indian business environment has got equal or more opportunities with above all specialisations. It depends upon your passion and affection towards a specialization. If you are a commerce background student then go for MBA in finance. Other graduates prefer HR. You can also go for event management.

Hi,
Remuneration in the field of event management varies according to the type of event managed. A trainee can get around Rs.15, 000 a month. The head of an event management company can earn in lakhs, depending on the scale of the events handled and whether she/ he has a stake in the company.
Below mentioned are the skills required:
1. Leadership qualities.
2. Public relations skills.
3. Marketing and business acumen.
4. Budgeting skills.
