The GATE conducting authorities offer scribe facility to candidates. However, to request a scribe for the GATE 2026 exam, candidates must fulfil the required criteria imposed for scribe candidates, which are as follows -

  • Candidates with permanent disabilities of 40% or more, including visual impairments or locomotor disabilities affecting writing hand are eligible to apply for a scribe. 
  • Required medical certifications and documents must be submitted during the GATE registration.

If you face any issues with the GATE admit card on exam day, then it is advisable to immediately contact the exam center authorities regarding the issues. Make sure to carry an additional ID and a spare printed admit card to avoid complications.

As such, there is no formal dress code for candidates appearing for the GATE exam. However, candidates must avoid wearing items with metallic objects, caps, or accessories like jewelry, belts as they may lead to delays during security checks.

No, only a printed hard copy of the GATE hall ticket is accepted. Soft copies on electronic devices are not allowed and may lead to disqualification. The GATE admit card was released on January 7, 2025 and can be downloaded using their enrollment ID and password.
