Indian students must obtain a CGPA  (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 8.5 or above in order to obtain a DAAD scholarship. Otherwise, you can also get a DAAD Germany scholarship if you have an aggregate percentage of 85% in all the semesters. Along with CGPA, you must also meet the ELP requirements listed below:

  • IELTS: 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT: 80

Not necessarily mandatory, but likely required. The DAAD requires proof of language proficiency, which can often be demonstrated with an IELTS score. However, the specific language requirements and accepted tests vary depending on the programme and the language of instruction. Some programs may accept other English proficiency tests (like TOEFL) or may not require an English test if you can demonstrate proficiency through other means (e.g., if your previous degree was taught entirely in English). One are advised to check the specific DAAD programme details for exact language requirements.
