GIBS follows the "Learning by Doing" model; therefore, most of the coursework is hands-on and practical. As their pedagogy goes, only approximately 30% of the course work is purely theoretical, and the remaining 70% constitutes experiential learning in the form of case studies, live projects, simulation games, role-plays, action learning, and group work.
Classes are highly interactive; students are continuously asked to present, summarize, debate, or reflect on the topics just discussed. GIBS also incorporates industry expertise in the classroom through guest lectures and industry experts, while connecting theory back to practical busin

Hi.

A candidate applying to GIBS can articulate their plan to contribute to campus culture and extracurricular activities by aligning their unique skills and interests with the existing vibrant culture and specific programs offered by the institute.

Key Ways a Candidate Can Plan to Contribute:
  • Active Participation in Student Clubs and Societies: GIBS has various student-run clubs (e.g., Marketing Club, Finance Club, Sports Club, Cultural Committee, Innovation Committee). A candidate can identify clubs relevant to their interests and express a strong desire to join and contribute. For example, a candidate with a strong finance backg

Hi.

GIBS evaluates entrance exam scores as a significant initial shortlisting criterion (approximately 40% weightage) within a holistic, multi-faceted admission process for its PGDM program. They accept scores from all major national-level exams, including CAT,  MAT,  XAT, and CMAT.

Evaluation Process
A valid score from an accepted entrance exam (CAT,  MAT,  XAT,  CMAT,  ATMA,  GMAT,  NMAT) is required for PGDM eligibility. Candidates who meet the minimum score or percentile are shortlisted for further rounds. The entrance exam score accounts for about 40% of the final weighted

Hi.

Yes

The University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, allow students to pursue two academic programs simultaneously. The crucial condition is that the class timings for the two programs do not overlap, which may be possible if one is in a regular physical mode and the other is an online or distance learning program.
However, the BBA is an undergraduate program, and the PGDM is a postgraduate program. They are designed as sequential steps in business education: candidates typically complete their BBA (or another bachelor's degree) before pursuing a PGDM.

Yes, GIBS has an industry-specific placement drive and a structured placement policy. The college conducts sector-focused recruitment processes wherein companies from sectors such as Consulting & IT, BFSI, Marketing & Sales, HR, Analytics, FMCG, Manufacturing, and E-commerce participate in separate drives. Domain-specific placement rounds enable the students to target roles of their choice related to their specializations and career goals. In addition, GIBS conducts domain-specific pre-placement talks, live projects, and industry panels weeks in advance so that students are well-prepared before facing such sectoral recruitment drives.

At GIBS, the class profile is actually very mixed, and that's what makes the learning really fun. You'll find students from different states, different backgrounds, and different streams all in one batch.

Some come from BBA, BCom, BSc, engineering, and some join after a year or two of work experience. There's a good balance of freshers and experienced people, so discussions feel very open and practical.

Overall, the batch feels like a small India — everyone brings their own ideas, culture, and style, and GIBS encourages that diversity in every class.

At GIBS, they keep the entrance exam part really simple. For PGDM or MBA, they accept almost all the common exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, and GMAT. Even state-level or institute-level scores are considered.

Honestly, GIBS doesn't stress too much about “only one specific exam.” As long as you have written any of these exams and meet the basic cut-off, you're good to apply. They focus more on your overall profile, communication, and interest in management rather than just exam marks.

ALL THE BEST!

GIBS prepares the students for placements through well-structured, industry-focused training systems that help in building professional skills, confidence, and corporate readiness. They start preparation from the first semester in the GIBS Finishing School (CPMP-Complete Placement & Personality Development Program), which trains students on a weekly basis in communication, aptitude, group discussions, interviews, corporate etiquette, and resume building. It also offers domain-specific skill training, certifications, and workshops on current industry needs.

The internships, live projects, Industrial Visits, Case Study-based Learning, and
