No, GRE is not required for mechanical engineering as the course offered is M.Eng not MS.

No, you don't require GRE for Masters in mechanical engineering as the university offers the course as M.Eng and M.A.Sc. So you need only give either TOEFL or IELTS.

There is no academic GRE. What we have is academic and general IELTS. As far as GRE is concerned, there is GRE General and an optional GRE subject test which will test your knowledge in a specific subject. Check for admission requirements of the universities you plan to apply to. Some may not require GRE at all and if they do (mostly in US and Canada), you must opt for GRE general and/or the optional subject test. I hope it helped. For more details, you can visit www.ets.org

Admissions in US universities are done on the basis of several factors and not limited to your grades. They evaluate the whole package and not just one factor. Having good grades and a good GRE score helps in admission. You may have a tough time while dealing with top universities. However, there are Tier 2 and Tier 3 which would be feasible for you. Please go through QS, Times Higher Education and US News World Ranking for university information and rankings. Please check the individual university websites for details. I hope this helped.
