To become a Chef in India, you would primarily need to attend a culinary school/institute to obtain the Bachelor's Degree in Catering Technology & Culinary Arts, the reason I'm saying culinary school is because a Hotel Management College/Institute would make you study all 4 Core Depts., and that at the end of the course there is no guarantee that you will get placements into 5 Star Hotels as a chef because when companies and Hotels come to recruit at a Hotel Management Institute they come prepared for all depts and generally do not take the students choice preference for the core dept selection, whereas in a Culinary Arts Institute, Hotels come to recruit with the thought of taking students as Chefs, also you get better offers and placement opportunities, there are Various Culinary Arts Institutes all over India with The Culinary Academy of India, Hyderabad being number one Culinary Arts Institute of India & also the 8th Best in the world.
