The IELTS exam does not need any special educational eligibility. Anyone can take it, no matter what education they have. You can have finished high school, done a bachelor's degree, or have any other level of education.

The IELTS checks your English skills in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. It does not look at your educational qualifications. The exam is for people from different education backgrounds. It gives everyone a chance to show their English language ability.

Getting a 7 in IELTS is possible, but it is not very easy. Candidates need a good understanding of English — especially in speaking, writing, reading, and listening. If a candidate practice regularly, learn the test format, and improve the grammar and vocabulary, he/she can definitely achieve a 7 or even higher. It takes hard work and smart preparation, but many students reach this score with proper effort.

The only eligibility criterion for the IELTS exam is a minimum age of 16 years. Other than that, there is no other speciifc IELTS eligibility criteria to appear for the test. The IELTS test is conducted to assess English language proficiency of the candidates who wants to study, working, or immigrating in English-speaking countries.

Why is there no educational requirement?

The IELTS is an English language proficiency test, not an academic qualification exam.

The test assesses your English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Who takes the IELTS?

People take the IELTS to study, work, or migrate to English-speaking countries.

There are two types of IELTS
