Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For JEE Main Round 6 cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 22917 and closing rank was 27288 for the general category candidates under All India quota. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Candidates, to be eligible, must write GATE exam. However, for final selection, the institute conductes a college-level entrance and also conducts a Personal Interview round to shortlist students. In addition to this, candidates must have also completed their master's degree in Engineering/ Technology along with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with 60% aggregate. 

IIIT Nagpur offers BTech in six specialisations, namely Computer Science Engineering (Artificial lntelligence and Machine Learning), Computer Science Engineering (Data Science and Analytics), Computer Science Engineering (Human Computer lnteraction and Gaming Technology), Electronics and Communication Engineering (Internet of Things), Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

 BTech admisison to IIIT Nagpur is based on candidate’s JEE Main exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) through which candidates are allotted the seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. However, for the remaining vacant seats, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages the counselling process.
