The admission in NIT, IIIT and GFTI are based on the ranks obtained in JEE Main exam conducted twice in year by NTA. Your 12th marks are good enough for getting admission in asked colleges. So please appear in upcoming JEE Main exam for admission.

As per my knowledge, you have a high rank. You can get GFTI's but even the lower one where return of investment is low. So I suggest you to apply for State Government Colleges that are taking admission on the basis of JEE Main rank. So you can get a better college and you can also try there for off campus placement.

Hi, just want to let you know that 78 percentile is actually not bad for AJEE rank. You will manage to secure a seat in an engineering college (probably not CS or IT) but in another stream for sure.

The National Testing Agency NTA conducts the Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main to shortlist candidates for admission into premier institutes like NITs, IIITs, and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs). Recently, the JEE Main Cutoff 2022 was released, which is usually of two types: the qualifying cutoff and the admission cutoff. The admission cutoff for JEE Main will be the opening and closing ranks for each institute and will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority, which also takes into consideration your category. According to the information provided by you, you can get admission into the National Institu

Although you have made it to the next round but that doesn't change the fact that your percentile is quite low, though I can't say certainly but based on previous years trend you won't make it for any IIIT or NIT. Here, visit this link to know more about expected cutoff for various IIITs and previous year cutoff for IIITs. https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/articles/iiits-cut-off-for-jee-main-blogId-20005.
