IIT JAM Biotechnology entrance examination is taken by various top colleges in India for admissions to Post Graduate courses like M.Sc. Biotechnology or equivalent. The following IITs admit students through this exam; IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT Guwahati. Apart from the IITs, other north Indian Tech institutes and few others including NIT Warangal and NIT Calicut recognize JAM scores. The top research institutes such as IISc Bangalore and IISERs (Pune, Kolkata, and Mohali) extend value added inter-disciplinary facilities for the eligible candidates. In addition to these Science programmes, other central universities also accept the JAM score for admission in its programmes, like the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and the University of Hyderabad offer scopes both in biotechnology academic line and other career related fields.

The choice of going to IITs and IIMs would depend on the type of goals and focus area your research is targeting to go for a Ph.D. in Economics:

1. IITs- Indian Institutes of Technology They mainly have technical and engineering-centric disciplines but also strong, high-quality Ph.D. programs in Economics, especially under the Humanities and Social Sciences departments. IITs like IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi are interdisciplinary, bringing together economics in combination with quantitative techniques and computational ones. With an interest in applied economics, a focus of econometrics, or data analysis work, IITs provide all that with the research-intensive environment, with technology being an added impetus supported by innovation Institutes of Management): IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta will have specialised Ph.D.s in Economics, which include departments for economics and business policy. 

Eligibility Criteria For Admission in 2024 IITs

A performance score of both board exams and the Joint Entrance Examination-Attempt (JEE) Advanced is indeed the two-time criteria for final judgment entry regarding eligibility for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in the coming academic year [2024].

Board Exam Score: Candidates who want admission into IITs should be within 75% marks in Class 12th board examination (or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards).

A total score of 74.2% means the minimum percentage requirement is not met.

JEE Advanced Qualification: The eligibility criterion states that only qualifying for the JEE Advanced would not suffice and the candidate needs to fulfill board exam score eligibility. You will have to meet the academic requirements prescribed by the IITs.
